Remember

Remember: cherries have pits.  Cherries with pits do not go in the garbage disposal.  When your husband is rescuing said cherries and pits from disposal move far, far away from disposal switch.  Preferably out of kitchen...just in case.

Glucola is not my friend

Today, in the span of about thirty seconds I drank a bottle of orange sugar.  It tasted as though there was a week's worth of sugar intake crammed inside those eight orange-y ounces.  Then I promptly felt sick for a few hours.  Which was not aided by the fact that the little guy I'm currently housing was bouncing off my uterine walls from all the sugar.  Seriously, little guy went for a solid hour, kicking and punching every inch of me he could reach.  I think he experienced more sugar intake today than every previous day of his existence put together.  Wow.  All I'm saying is if I didn't have gestational diabetes before, I'm pretty sure I have it now.

I started working on the preggo slash baby scrapbook this weekend.  I want to have it up to date by the time the shower rolls around.  I just finished a page for Steve's first Father's day (also known as week 20).  So we're sailing right along.  I hope it's good...and that I can get the rest done this week.  I only have a few things left: five more weeks,  a few more baby letters, and a few more events (i.e. Baby's first Movie - Harry Potter).  Oh, and since we've been taking a baby-belly picture each week I'm going to make a belly timeline.  So I'll h ave to do that as well.  Yay!  Here's the most recent baby belly pic (well, the most recent one I have on my computer....week 22....and we're in week 25 now...so not too terribly far behind.)

We gave in....

Yesterday we finally gave in.  For the first time this Summer (and only the second time ever) we turned on our air conditioner.  I was actually a little sad about it.  I like to wear our non-use of the AC as a badge (a badge of what I'm not sure, but of something).  It's okay though, we only AC'ed it up for 24 hrs.  Things are back to normal now.   Whew.

The Man...errr....The City

Apparently the city of South Euclid cares nothing for my timelines or to-do lists.  Steve and I have a list of things that need to be done around the house int he coming months, mostly to get the house in order and ready for a baby.  I've been spazzing out because the house is a mess and there's no order to a lot of things.  But, we had a plan.  A glorious, written out plan.  And then the City of South Euclid laid waste all our thoughts.  Apparently, once every six years they inspect homes.  Apparently, this year is our year.  They conducted their inspection (unbeknownst to us), and mailed us the results.  I guess our house is crappy, or something.  We have a list of almost a dozen things the city wants us to fix...before October.  Sweet.  Goodbye to all the plans I had about fixing up the inside of our house and making everything more orderly.  Hello to re-painting siding, tarring the driveway, paying someone to fix our front steps, and something about window wells.  I thoroughly dislike the man, or in this case the city.  Don't they know I've got my own agenda?  Apparently not, or at least they don't care.

Ack!

T-Minus not very many hours.  Ack!  So if you know me at all you know that I am in the throes of panic/anxiety/stress/delight.  Why?  Because Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two comes out tomorrow at midnight!!!!  Ahhh!  I've been having HP induced nightmares for several weeks now, waking up in a panic about our whole Midnight Movie party.  Whew.  It's okay though.  By this time tomorrow I will be safely in line for HP7 P2.  Add a few hours and I will have (hopefully) successfully tromped teenagers in my quest to get the Seats of Champions.  Then all panic will be over.  All I'll have to do after that is wait, and probably cry.  It's the end, people!  Ack.

Weird and New and Exciting

This little fella I'm working on growing has taken to kicking...a ton.  Every single kick, little or big, brings a smile to my face.  Even the ones at 2am when I already desperately have to pee and he decides it's the perfect time to exercise.  Steve has even started to feel him when he really kicks hard, perfect.  Here's  a belly pic from a few weeks ago, and our little babes profile from week 18 (just in case you haven't seen it yet...or want to see it again).  He was super funny at the ultrasound, the tech said he just wouldn't stop squirming.  She had to work super hard to get a few pictures she needed because he kept moving away from her.  Funny Boy.

This is from week 17
...and we're at 22 now
...But I like this one
...and haven't put the most recent ones on my computer yet
...sorry.

Yay Baby Boy Abel!
He has a name (we're 97% set on one)
But we're not telling anyone until he makes his appearance.
:-)
